Publication Ethics

The Riphah Journal of Islamic Thought and Civilization (RJITC) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and research integrity. The journal's editorial policies are developed in accordance with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Core Practices and internationally recognized principles of scholarly publishing.

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors must submit original, unpublished work that is not under consideration elsewhere. They are responsible for the accuracy of their research, proper acknowledgment of all sources, disclosure of any conflicts of interest, and obtaining any necessary ethical approvals. All listed authors must have made a substantial scholarly contribution to the work and approved the final manuscript before submission.

Responsibilities of Editors

Editors are responsible for ensuring a fair, objective, and confidential editorial process. Editorial decisions are based solely on the manuscript's scholarly merit, originality, relevance to the journal's scope, reviewers' recommendations, and compliance with ethical standards. Editors must avoid conflicts of interest and maintain editorial independence.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts objectively, maintain confidentiality, declare any conflicts of interest, and provide constructive, evidence-based comments within the agreed review period. Information obtained during peer review must not be used for personal advantage.

Research Misconduct

RJITC does not tolerate plagiarism, duplicate submission, redundant publication, data fabrication, data falsification, citation manipulation, or inappropriate authorship. All manuscripts are screened for similarity before peer review. Allegations of research misconduct are investigated fairly and confidentially, and appropriate action is taken where misconduct is confirmed.

Corrections and Retractions

Where significant errors or ethical concerns are identified after publication, the journal may publish corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.

Complaints and Appeals

Authors, reviewers, and readers may submit complaints or appeals concerning editorial decisions or publication ethics. All complaints are handled fairly, impartially, and confidentially in accordance with the journal's established procedures.

RJITC is committed to promoting honesty, transparency, accountability, and integrity throughout the publication process and continually reviews its policies to reflect international best practices in scholarly publishing.
