Abstract

This study investigates the crucial role of marriage in Islam as a fundamental safeguard for the family system, highlighting how Islamic teachings contribute to the protection and strengthening of familial relationships. Rooted in Quranic teachings and the traditions of the Prophet Muhammad, Islam regards marriage as a vital institution essential for the stability and welfare of the family unit. The research explores various aspects of how Islam reinforces the family structure through the institution of marriage. It examines key Quranic verses and Hadiths that stress the sanctity of marriage, detailing the rights and responsibilities assigned to both spouses. The study also delves into the social, emotional, and psychological aspects of marriage within an Islamic context, demonstrating how marriage serves as a foundation for support, companionship, and mutual personal development. Additionally, the study addresses the importance of marriage in creating a nurturing environment for raising children, recognizing the family as the cornerstone of society in Islamic thought. It explores the protective measures embedded in Islamic jurisprudence that ensure the rights of family members are upheld, fostering an atmosphere of justice, equity, and compassion. By illuminating how Islam views and protects the family system through marriage, this study offers valuable insights for individuals, communities, and policymakers. A deeper understanding of these principles can guide discussions on family dynamics and aid in developing strategies that promote the well-being and unity of families, aligned with Islamic values.
