The Journal of Islamic International Medical College (JIIMC) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of research integrity, transparency, and editorial responsibility. The journal adheres to internationally recognized ethical frameworks and reporting standards to ensure the credibility, reproducibility, and quality of published research.
JIIMC supports responsible scientific conduct and expects all authors, reviewers, and editors to uphold principles of honesty, transparency, and accountability in research and publication.
1. Reporting Guidelines
JIIMC endorses reporting standards recommended by the EQUATOR (Enhancing the QUAlity and Transparency Of health Research) Network. Authors must prepare manuscripts in accordance with the appropriate reporting guideline and submit the relevant checklist with page references.
Required Guidelines by Study Type:
Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs):
- CONSORT (Consolidated Standards of Reporting Trials)
- Trial registration number required
Observational Studies (Cohort, Case-Control, Cross-Sectional, Hospital-Based):
- STROBE (Strengthening the Reporting of Observational Studies in Epidemiology)
Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses:
- PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses)
Case Reports and Case Series:
- CARE Guidelines
Diagnostic Accuracy Studies:
- STARD Guidelines
Manuscripts not compliant with applicable reporting standards may be returned prior to peer review.
2. Ethical Approval and Participant Protection
All research involving human participants must include:
- Institutional Review Board (IRB) or Ethical Committee approval
- Approval reference number
- Confirmation of informed consent (where applicable)
- Statement of compliance with the Declaration of Helsinki
3. Transparency in Methods and Data
Authors are required to:
- Clearly define study design and methodology
- Describe inclusion and exclusion criteria
- Report statistical methods transparently
- Disclose handling of missing data
- Acknowledge potential sources of bias
- Provide data availability statements
Where applicable, authors are encouraged to share anonymized datasets or provide access upon reasonable request.
4. Conflict of Interest and Funding Disclosure
All authors must disclose:
- Financial or non-financial conflicts of interest
- Sources of funding
- Institutional affiliations that may influence interpretation
A conflict of interest declaration is mandatory for publication.
5. Peer Review Integrity
JIIMC follows a structured peer-review process to ensure objectivity and quality assessment.
- Manuscripts undergo independent peer review
- Reviewers are selected based on subject expertise
- Editorial decisions are based on scientific merit
- Confidentiality is strictly maintained throughout the review process
The journal does not tolerate manipulation of peer review.
6. Plagiarism and Publication Ethics
JIIMC employs plagiarism detection software to screen all submissions.
The journal adheres to international publication ethics principles and does not tolerate:
- Plagiarism
- Data fabrication or falsification
- Duplicate publication
- Authorship disputes
- Undisclosed conflicts of interest
Suspected ethical misconduct is handled in accordance with established editorial procedures.

Editorial decisions are based solely on:
- Scientific quality
- Methodological rigor
- Ethical compliance
- Relevance to the journal’s scope
Editorial processes operate independently of institutional, financial, or political influence.
